I just got an LG8300 and found it to be very cumbersome to use, compare to my lastLG4500. I had heard that LG9900 might beore accessible than the 8300. Is this true? Can someone clue me in as to how/if 9900 is different from the 8300. Thanks.

I recently got an LG8300 too, and I think that there are things about it, that aren't as easy to use as was on the LG4500. However, when I went to get a new phone, I did look at the 9900, but I didn't like the look of it. It seemed pretty bulky to me, and, honestly, I didn't like the way it flipped open. It wasn't your normal flip phone. As far as accesssibility goes, I'm not completely sure. I did read that the 9900 is more accessible when it comes to text messaging, but I'm not sure about anything else. You can send a private message to T-Roy, and see if he can tell you a little bit about it. I've read that he's a Verizon Wireless customer representative, so he might be able to answer your questions.

With my 4500, the Verizon store ordered me a manual book in Braille, which I thought was awesome. However, when I asked about getting one for the 8300, they acted like they had no idea what I was talking about. So, I emailed the company who produced the one for the 4500, but I never received a reply. I figured I'd try again, because I'd really like to have the book. It helped out quite a bit for the other phone, and I think it'd do the same for this one as well.

I'm due to get a new phone soon, and have enjoyed my 4650, so I'd apreciate any feedback anyone can offer here as well.

Thank you Gemini for the info. I willcontact VZ and see to get the braille manual. I saw the 9900 today and it looked very ugly. I ended up sticking with the 8300 because I figured that I could not sacrafice two oreven three pants pockets for the 9900. In the end, when a rep helped me compare the two phones, both the 8300 and the 9900 have the same features, only the 9900 costs more.

Well, if Verizon doesn't help you with the manual, let me know, and I'll give you the email to the company who produced the manual for the 4500. Like I said, they have yet to email me back, but I'm going to send them another one. It's been almost a month, and I think that gives them more than enough time to reply to a query. lol

There is an e-mail list for blind users of the LG phones. Send an e-mail to BlindusersLGVXPhones-subscribe@yahoo.com and put the word subscribe in the subject
line. Once you join, you can access info on the group site and ask questions of other members.

As far as accessibility of Verizon phones, the Q and the PN820 have the best, but you have to buy Mobile Speak Smartphone, or Smart Hal to get it. It's finally a good alternative to anything else we've ever had.
